Chelan County is located on the East Slopes of the
Cascade Mountain Range in Central Washington State. As of 2007, the
population is 71,200. The county seat is at Wenatchee. "Chelan" derives from
a Chelan Indian word meaning "deep water," likely a reference to
55-mile-long Lake Chelan, the third deepest lake in the country, at 1,486 ft
(453 m). Boasting all four seasons, Chelan County makes a recreation
paradise for all ages! Whether you enjoy snow skiing or water skiing,
mountain climbing or trail hiking, golfing or fishing, we have it all!
Our location and weather makes Chelan County the playground of the Pacific
Northwest. |
